Everyone meet Karla & Jay! At first it seemed that the engagement session gods were not with them… we postponed their original session date a month ago due to the cold and then rain was expected for their new date! They traveled all the way down from Wilkes-Barre (where their wedding will be this July) to model for yours truly. Despite the rain they were up for everything I threw at them and the e-session gods began to smile! I actually don’t mind photographing in less than ideal conditions because it allows for some special images and I can take advantage of any situation. My attitude is always, “If you don’t mind getting wet neither do I!”
Maureen came along to assist and we had a great time taking Karla & Jay out and about Philly. We started out with a few shots in the studio on a white backdrop and then headed down to the the oldest church in Pennsylvania, the Gloria Dei (Old Swedes’) Church off of Columbus Blvd. I have been experimenting with some more elaborate and artistic photo techniques recently and you will see one down below. I created a very dramatic, dark image outside of the church which looks like an old Hollywood movie set with all kinds of bizarre shadows etc. I love doing these types of complicated, intricate photographs. Things I also love include: awesome couples, multi-location photo shoots, lots of time to take pictures and off camera lighting.
Soo… we wrapped up the shoot with a few pics by the Ben Franklin Bridge and with some fantastic cherry blossoms on Columbus Blvd. Thanks for a great Saturday morning and I can’t wait to travel up to Wilkes-Barre to photograph your wedding! Enjoy the pics.
