Lauren + Andrew are pure non-stop fun and laughter:) Ever since meeting them last year we could tell that they were going to be incredible to work with because they tease, provoke and make each other laugh and smile constantly. Their wedding at Willow Tree Grove in Orefield, PA proved to be no different and actually gave us insight into how they became who they are today through their families and friends.
The getting ready, ceremony and reception was all right there so it was a perfect setup that let us really get photos of everything. The guys were down in a house called ‘The Pub’, which is way better than the tiny closet most grooms end up getting ready in;) In our final talk through before their wedding we developed an awesome vision of the guys scrambling to get ready around the bar with Andrew’s tie mid-air being thrown to him by his best man Bob; yes we made that happen:) And the ladies were getting ready right next to where the ceremony would take place inside the main building at Willow Tree Grove. We arranged a first look with Lauren and her father and then right after we did an awesome photo with the couple on either side of a door holding hands; the closet they would come before their ceremony:)
Side note: I want to personally request that every wedding has a therapy dog in attendance! We met Tony, Lauren + Andrew’s fur baby during their engagement session and he has such an amazing personality and natural instincts for the camera:) Having Tony there just made everything seem so much lighter and fun. Tony played a major role in their wedding as the ring bearer and he even had a custom tailored tux! Yes, Tony is so important to them that when I asked Lauren what is the top must-have photo she described an image with the three of them in front of the gazebo together. Mo and I feel the same way about our doggy. Our dog Yeti was at our wedding and heavily involved, although not to the level of ring bearer since he was still a rowdy puppy:)
Their ceremony was indoors and included their family members + wedding party pouring glass into a container that will be melted and made into a vase. Tony performed his duty as ring bearer immaculately and the whole ceremony went off perfectly with Andrew seeing Lauren for the first time as she came down the aisle.
Once the ceremony was over we launched into portrait mode, exploring the multiple layers and paths of Willow Tree Grove with their wedding party. Before long we were back inside setting up for their reception intros, speeches and dances. Lauren and her father had a dynamic surprise dance performance prepared and Mo and I were both laughing being our cameras and impressed they could pull off all those moves! DJ Hypoxic (who is actually a coworker of Lauren + Andrew) kicked things off and dance floor was flooded.
Sparkler photos!!!! We could have spend a whole hr doing these photos because Andrew + Lauren just kept giving us ideas as they playfully wizard battled each other with their sparkler wands. We did several variations including a standard send off with their whole wedding party followed by some creative long exposure shots. Scroll down and take a look!
Well the long wait is over and it couldn’t have come at a better time since Lauren + Andrew are both nurses and their wedding was right before the whole world changed with Covid-19. I just want to say that I hope you guys stay healthy and safe and we loved working with you and your families and with them good health as well. We can look back at your photos and remember the great time we had together and how important family, friends and relationships are to us. This might be the last wedding blog we have for some time but I’m glad it was you Lauren + Andrew:) Enjoy and stay safe.
