Please enjoy these images that we created for Melissa & Jared at the Mendenhall Inn out in Mendenhall, PA. The weather held out perfectly and we enjoyed working in the beautiful grand ballroom. Melissa & Jared decided to see each other before the ceremony as there wouldn’t have been enough light afterwards.
A lot of couples ask me about taking their pictures before the ceremony and how well it works for us and the couple. Well, we really don’t have a preference either way, but I find that about a third of my clients decide to see each other beforehand. Normally when our couples decide to see each other before we try to do a ‘first look’ where we arrange for the groom to see the bride for the first time. The most important factors as to whether you should see each other before are time & light… Time: We try to schedule the portraits with plenty of time so that we don’t feel rushed and can get the couple back early. Light: We try to schedule the portraits to occur when we will have enough light and preferably we wrap it up around sunset.
The bottom line is that weddings with enough time for photos are much easier on the couple and us. This was definitely the case with Melissa & Jared. Thanks for a great time and enjoy your photos.
