For the first time since I was a little kid I found myself back at the Strasburg Railroad Museum in Lancaster, PA.  It really was a wonderful backdrop for Beth & Alex on their wedding day:)

We began our day with Beth at her childhood home in West Chester to photograph her getting ready.  They had really cute matching bracelets that said “You’re the Kirk to my Spock,” and “You’re the Spock to my Kirk,” respectively.  Although there was some confusion as to who was Kirk and who was Spock:)  After Beth put her wedding dress on we photographed her father seeing her for the first time as she walked down the staircase.  Then we used the time we had left over to take some photos of Beth and her family as well as her two bridesmaids in the front of the house.  There was a beautiful cherry tree that we used in some of the photos below:)

Once we were finished with our bride we headed over to St. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in West Chester to catch Alex and his two groomsmen for some photos at the church.  Usually this is the best use of time when the groom goes to the church a little early to knock out any photos with his family before the ceremony.  I think once Alex saw Beth coming down the aisle any nerves disappeared:) After the ceremony we wrapped up the family photos and headed out to Lancaster County to take pictures with some trains!

We arrived at the Railroad museum just in time to catch the last bit of light before the sun dissappeared.  We started with some photos by the trains on the platform outside next to the life size Thomas the Tank.  The platform at the Strasburg Railroad Museum is so beautiful with so many rustic and interesting areas to photograph.  We took some incredible sunset photos with Beth & Alex… it is very rare to be at the right place/time during the sunset since it goes by so quickly.  Enjoy those photos below:)

A nice aspect about using the Strasburg Railroad museum as a wedding venue is that you can go inside the museum where all of the trains are and take photos there despite what the weather is doing outside.  Inside the museum in the middle of all that history is also where the reception was setup.  Beth & Alex had a World of Warcraft cake topper that went right along with their Stark Trek bracelets:)  Every table had a photo of Beth & Alex in front of a different SEPTA train stop sign out in Philadelphia.  The funny thing was that they drove to the different train stops.. I guess it would have taken forever to take the train:)

We had such a great time working with you Beth & Alex!  Your wedding had such a great vibe to it.  We hope you love the photos that we created with you.

I’m in need of a cake topper like this one in the pictures….where can I find one exactly like it…

Alycia & Paul are a really awesome couple. Hanging out with them for their engagement session was a blast. For their wedding day, well they had already been married a few months back, so we cut right to the chase with photos and then dancing. They also had a little Dr Who theme going, from the cake, to the shoes to the grooms outfit. The sun is setting earlier now so we were also able to get a lot of awesome night photos. Thanks Alycia & Paul for a great time, wish you the best! Enjoy!

We had such a fantastic time with Ashlee & Brad down in Washington DC for their engagement session earlier this year, and now their wedding rolled around this fall at the perfectly picturesque, Manor House at Prophecy Creek Park. We started out with Ashlee and all of her ladies at her grandmothers house, she looked stunning from the start.  Her two aunts walked her down the aisle, it was the sweetest thing. After her and Brad where hitched we went off to the Manor House. It was a rather cloudy rainy day, but that is perfect light for us, so we worked quickly and came out with some beautiful images of the couple and their wedding party, before the rain rolled back in. To top it off, all that rain turned into this awesome, eerie scene out back later that night, with fog looming over the water, we grabbed the couple and were able to compose a stunning, angelic (as Matt put it) portrait. Thank you Ashlee & Brad! You guys were so fun to work with, enjoy!
