Welcome to the McMasters Photography blog. This is a combination of photo tips, suggestions, ideas, thoughts and images made available to anyone interested in photography. I love photography and I hope that through my posts someone can learn and acquire a deeper joy for photography.
I am a photographer in the Central Pennsylvania area living in Elizabethtown PA. I enjoy all varieties of photography from wedding to studio portraits to sports events. To me photography is an outlet for my visual creativity. I don’t consider myself a graphic designer, although I have stepped into that role as well as web developer to create my website www.McMastersPhotography.com. When I was in middle school as a kid I used to enjoy drawing but I have long since left that passion behind me. Around that time I taught myself music and have used songs and lyrics to be creative and to express myself. I never though I would have the chance to be creative and express myself visually through pictures. Photography is perfect for me; as I am a tedious, inquiring, technical and yet creative personality.
I’ve never had any formal training in photography besides assisting in photo shoots when I was working in recording studios. Like all of my passions I have basically taught myself with the aid of the internet, friends and professionals. Through frustration, trial and error, and a desire to understand and learn I have arrived at running my own photography business: McMasters Photography and here you are reading my blog. Much of beign a photographer is personality which is something that can’t be taught anyways. I have developed a very calm and controlled manner working as a recording engineer and being in control of recording sessions that suits the fast pace nature of photography very well.
